Set within the northern Highlands — close to the North Coast 500 and routes leading west toward Assynt and Lochinver — these walks explore landscapes shaped by glaciers, ancient conflict, belief, imagination, and change.

Together, we’ll uncover stories of ancient battles and shifting powers, the lingering presence of the supernatural, and glens long associated with spirits, witches, and otherworldly encounters. We’ll also step into more recent history, reflecting on so-called ‘improvement’ measures, the impact of the Clearances, and the lives of those who travelled, resisted, and endured.

With each step, you’ll encounter layers of Highland history and folklore: from Ossianic echoes and oral tradition to tales of fairies, travellers, and everyday lives shaped by land and movement. These immersive experiences invite you to slow down, listen closely, and connect with the essence of a landscape that is both awe-inspiring and deeply human.

All walks are carefully tailored to suit your interests, pace, and abilities. Experiences take place in a range of landscapes across the northern Highlands, with starting points arranged along accessible stretches of the NC500, nearby coastal paths, and inland routes. Exact meeting points are shared upon booking, ensuring flexibility and comfort for individuals, families, and groups.

Each walk is shaped by the place we explore together. Stories may range from historical accounts and literary traditions to folklore, fairies, witches, and local memory, ensuring that every experience is unique and seasonally responsive. Whether you’re looking for a gentle introductory walk, a half-day exploration, or a longer outdoor adventure, sessions can be adapted to suit you.

Private group bookings are available, alongside scheduled walks that invite you to step off the road and experience the Highlands at a slower, more thoughtful pace.

Discover the Highlands with your Dog

We gladly accommodate dogs on all our walks, and you might even meet our companion Nevis, who you can get to know in the Dog Adventures section. However, if you prefer a dog-free experience, you can select that option in your booking form, and we will make sure that he is snuggled up comfortably at home.
